Paroles

1. While strolling through the park one day
In the merry merry month of May
I was taken by surprise
By a pair of roguish eyes
In a moment my poor heart was stole away.
A smile was all she gave to me,
Of course we were as happy as can be,
I immediately raised my hat,
She responded with a shy remark,
And I never shall forget that lovely afternoon
When I met her at the fountain in the park.

2. We linger'd there beneath the trees,
Her voice was like the fragrant breeze.
We talked of happy love until the stars above
When her loving "yes" she gave my heart to please.
A smile was all she gave to me
Instrumental phrase
Of course we were as happy as could be.
Instrumental phrase
I immediately raised my hat
And finally she remarked.
I never shall forget that lovely afternoon,
When I met her at the fountain in the park.
